Work Visas (Formerly Tier 2) in Leeds, Bradford and Nationwide across the UK
A skilled worker visa (formerly Tier 2 visa) allows skilled workers outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland to work and live in the UK.
If successful, a skilled worker visa lasts up to 5 years and, subject to any change of circumstances, can be extended without issue. Your partner and children can also apply separately to join you as dependents.
Tier 2 visas are divided into four sub-categories:
Anyone offered a skilled job not filled by a UK national
An employee of a multinational company wishing to transfer to a UK division
Suitable for ministers, priests and missionaries seeking to join faith-based communities in the UK
For sportspeople, including trainers and coaches, whose employment will directly advance the national sport.
A person applying for a skilled work visa needs to meet the below criteria to be considered eligible.
- Have at least 70 points on the points-based immigration system
- Have an offer of employment from a UK employer approved by the Home Office
- Have a certificate of sponsorship from your employer, which you can produce as part of your application process
- Perform a job approved by the UK government
- Be paid a minimum salary (this can vary depending on the field of work)
- Be able to read, speak and understand English at a competent level
- Be able to support yourself financially during your stay
